Kings of Indigo

Meet the man in blue: Tony Tonnaer. Tonnaer worked at Pepe Jeans Europe, was managing director at Kuyichi and founded Kings of Indigo in 2010. His denim is inspired by American classics, designed with a Japanese eye for detail and manufactured with the sustainable technology of today.

KOI uses organic cotton, recycled wool, tencel and recycled materials, stimulates people to repair their jeans and re-uses them to create new fabrics. The denim is produced in Tunesia, and the rest even closer to home: their natural leather collection is entirely made in Holland.

In Japan, the koi fish stands for luck, love and perseverance. Exactly what we wish for Tony during his fellowship at the Strawberry Earth Academy.
